Every year the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona funds Innovation Grants for projects up to $50,000 that are aligned with the Foundation Mission of Promoting Population Health and

The Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona is a public charity that grants funds to those entities promoting population health and community wellness in Cochise and eastern Santa Cruz counties. The grants are issued as described below.

common goals. Rarely does one  organization have the perspective to see all aspects of how complex problems affect people and very few organizations have the time, money and people to address all aspects of a problem.

Each year the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona Board identifies a strategic focus and encourages community organizations providing services within that focus to apply for funding. Because partnerships are so critical to success, organizations are encouraged to submit applications that reflect collaboration with other organizations.

The Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona will kick off the Strategic Grant Cycle with a workshop that will provide full information regarding the goals of the strategic focus.

Responsive Competitive Grants:

Grant Cycle – No LOI.  Application opens on April 10, 2017 and closes 5:00 pm May 8, 2017.

Each year the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona partners with The Arizona Community Foundation-Cochise and funds grants up to $5,000 for community organizations.

Applications for grants pertaining to population health and community wellness are made directly to the Legacy Foundation. All other grant requests are made directly to ACF Cochise

Emergent Grant Requests

Emergency and urgent needs for nonprofit organizations may occur outside the routine cycles described above. These types of grant requests will be considered on an individual basis.

Community Wellness (higher amounts may be considered). Generally, funding will be for one – two years.

Collaboration and forging partnerships with other community organizations are key determinants in funding decisions.

Grant Cycles And How To Apply

Fast Pitch grants support educational activities to strengthen an organization’s ability to operate efficiently and effectively. This grant focuses on inner workings of an organization, not programs and services.

In some cases Responsive Grants may be provided outside the regular responsive grant cycle. Contact the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona directly for more information regarding out of cycle Responsive Grants.

Innovative Grants:

Grant Cycle –LOI opens June 12, 2017 and closes August 25, 2017.  Applications open September 11, 2017 and closes October 13, 2017.
