Fast Pitch Grant Awards $35,123.98

The Fast Pitch grant supports an organization’s ability to operate efficiently and build capacity through education such as conferences, webinars, speakers, or training curriculum for staff, board, or volunteers. The purchase of technology and software used to build internal capacity of the nonprofit organization is also included in the Fast Pitch Grant.

  • Anchor House Christian Ministries: $1,500.00

    QuickBooks and management software with 10 licenses.

  • Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless: $2,500.00

    First aid training, de-escalation training and effective communication training for 6 board and staff.

  • Bisbee Restoration Association and Historical Society: $1,229.98

    Replace outdated computer and Microsoft Office software.

  • Bisbee Science Exploration & Research Center: $1,210.00

    Two representatives to attend the Association of Science & Technology Center conference.

  • Bisbee Women's Club: $2,000.00

    Purchase a laptop, projector, hotspot, printer, wireless speaker, microphone system & A/V cart and IT consultant for meetings and educational programs / Partially funded.

  • Boys and Girls Club of Bisbee: $2,500.00

    Flight and conference fee expenses for 4 staff to attend the National Boys and Girls Clubs of America Conference and Pacific Region Conference.

  • Boys and Girls Club of Sierra Vista: $2,500.00

    Flight/hotel and conference fees for 3 to attend the 2025 Boys & Girls Club National Conference.

  • Chiricahua Community Health Centers: $1,250.00

    Board Member Training for Two New Chiricahua Community Health Center Board of Directors / match funding.

Responsive Grant Awards $71,011.00

The Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona collaborates with The Arizona Community Foundation of Cochise. Cooperatively each organization funds grants up to $5,000 for a one year project.


The Legacy Foundation accepts applications for grants pertaining specifically to population health and community wellness. All other grant requests are made directly to Arizona Community Foundation of Cochise.

  • Arizona Rangers: $3,500.00

    Purchase six protective ballistic vests for new Rangers.

  • Aviva Children's Services: $2,000.00

    Purchase items for Emergency Resource Closet for Foster kids in Sierra Vista.

  • The Boys and Girls Club of Sierra Vista: $3,000.00

    Start a flag football league collaborative with Bisbee, Santa Cruz and Sierra Vista Boys and Girls Clubs.

  • City of Tombstone: $2,500.00

    Purchase two pepper ball guns for deputies for less lethal response.

  • Cochise County Master Gardeners Association: $1,564.00

    Supplies for workshop attendees, seed library and school field trip program.

  • Cochise Harm Reduction: $2,500.00

    Purchase of food, containers and supplies to deliver healthy meals to homeless encampments in Bisbee, Douglas, Benson and Sierra Vista.

  • Cochise Serving Veterans: $2,000.00

    Outreach expenses such as paying utilities to avoid disconnect, hotel costs for homeless veterans that are transitioning to permanent housing, car repairs, etc.

  • Douglas ARC: $3,000.00

    Legacy funds will pay for food containers for delivery of 125 home bound meals daily, five days per week.

  • Family Health Care Amigos: $2,500.00

    Acquire two new and/or used portable oxygen concentrators (POC) to lend out to clients who want more mobility.

  • KnightWatch K9 for Warriors: $2,500.00

    Provide a service dog for a Veteran with PTSD.

  • Literacy Connects: $2,000.00

    Funding for Children’s books for medical offices distribution.

  • Love Muziq Operation 13:2: $2,500.00

    Continue providing high school youth with an after-school mentoring and athletic training program.

  • Palominas Southern Baptist Church: $2,500.00

    Food for pantry

  • Patches' Happy Pastures Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc.: $2,000.00

    To develop and launch a professional website to market services and support sustainability.

  • Saavi Services for the Blind: $2,000.00

    Funding would purchase medical toolkits for our Health and Wellness Program for Blind Seniors in Cochise and eastern Santa Cruz Counties. This program provides physical activities/training and skill development designed to improve the health, independence, and quality of life for blind seniors.

  • Senior Citizens of Patagonia, Inc.: $2,750.00

    Funding will pay for servicing two commercial freezers, two commercial refrigerators, a dishwasher, stove, ice maker and electric generator for continued ability to provide meals.

  • Sierra Vista Rotary Club Charities (Sunrise Rotary Club): $2,500.00

    This project is to develop a community based “Food Forest” in the west end Sulger subdivision benefitting Sierra Vista by focusing on: 1) harvesting rainwater, 2) planning and planting a Food Forest, 3) providing plants and shrubs for birds and insects, and 4) providing educational opportunities for our local school system.

  • Sierra Vista Symphony: $3,000.00

    Present two one-hour symphonic concerts to local area fifth grade students – free of charge. Includes instructional materials to teachers in advance to ensure maximum enjoyment and understanding for the students.

  • St. John's Episcopal Church: $2,338.00

    This request is for funding to upgrade the church kitchen and reduce food costs to expand weekly Rhythmic Slices Pizza/Potluck and Music Jam, a project that welcomes people from all walks of life for the sharing of food and music.

  • St. Vincent de Paul - Douglas: $2,500.00

    St. Vincent de Paul provides lunches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week and emergency food boxes every Tuesday. The funds received will provide financial support to purchase produce and protein for both food programs.

  • Sunsites-Pearce Fire District: $4,630.00

    For the purchase a carbon monoxide monitor.

  • The Be Kind People Project: $3,000.00

    Youth development program for 500 low-income students in Douglas, plus possibly Naco and SV that inspires students to learn about and practice habits that will decrease obesity & improved health/wellness.

  • The Salvation Army: $3,000.00

    The Kids Culinary program provides an online, or virtual cooking class for low-income youth. TSA provides ingredients along with utensils needed for the recipe.

  • Volunteer Interfaith Caregiver Program (ViCAP): $2,500.00

    Annual vehicle insurance premiums and fuel costs for wheelchair-accessible van.

  • Warrior Healing Project: $2,500.00

    Teaching psychological first aid (PFA) with practical application and resources for veterans to prevent suicide.

  • Willcox Community Food Pantry: $2,500.00

    This Program will provide nutritional assistance for school age children K-12. The Program provides weekly distributions to the Willcox Elementary, Middle, and High Schools.

  • Willcox Theater and Arts, Inc.: $ 2,500.00

    WTA will directly address social isolation by recording oral histories of local seniors living in Willcox and the surrounding communities. High school youth will digitally film, edit, and produce the interviews to a final form, creating a true intergenerational opportunity to document local history.

Innovative Grant Awards $319,383.00

Each year the Legacy Foundation offers Innovative Grants up to $50,000 a year for up to two years ($100,000 max). These projects must meet at least one of the Innovative criteria contained within the grant guidelines.

  • The Boys and Girls Club of Bisbee: $50,000.00

    M.E. Project, expansion of teen room / Teen room expansion for STEM programming, homework help, skill building, etc. To increase programs and capacity. Bisbee B & G had to close registration and turn away families for the first time in 22 years.

  • Boys and Girls Club of Bisbee: $50,000.00

    Douglas Unit / Collaborative effort with the City of Douglas to open a Unit. A formal business plan is being developed and the facility is identified.

  • Child Evangelism Fellowship Cochise County Chapter: $9,300.00

    Christian Youth in Action – Full Force / 5-day Christian Youth in Action camp for teens by trained teens supervised by adults. – Matching Grant

  • City of Douglas: $32,500,00

    Visioning for the Future- City of Douglas Community Center Architectural Assessment & Design / The Foundation funding would pay for the architectural assessment and engineering design to convert an existing commercial building into a Community Center that will also house the Boys & Girls Club Douglas Unit.

  • City of Tombstone: $5,000.00

    Tombstone Marshal’s Explorer Program / To start a youth program for 20 teens. Law enforcement will provide mentorship / trainings. Funding will pay for uniforms, equipment and BSA membership.

  • City of WIllcox: $25,000.00

    Willcox Spray Park and Pool Shade Structures / Funding will be used to purchase and install shade structures at the new pool and spray park for inclusion.

  • Mountain View Assembly of God Sierra Vista: $19,250.00

    Transportation needs / For the purchase of a 15-passenger van, handicapped conversion, insurance and vetting of drivers for youth outings, senior lunches and planned transportation for seniors from smaller towns to attend lunches . Legacy funding is for the van purchase. – Matching Grant

  • SAHARA HUMANITARIAN RESOURCE INC: $10,000.00

    SAHARA Expansion Project / Funding to build handicap ramps, move gate and make thrift store buildings code-compliant for customer access. The Thrift store provides funding for food boxes distributed twice a month and support to first responders and house fire victims.

  • Sonoita Company Arizona Rangers: $30,000.00

    Arizona Rangers Sonoita Company / For the purchase of 12 radios and 4 ballistic vests for the Rangers in Sonoita.

  • Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF): $10,000.00

    SAAF Enhanced Support Services in Southeastern Arizona / Funding for expansion of services for 150 clients with AIDS to help with food, transportation, and personal items in Cochise & easter Santa Cruz counties.

  • The Be Kind People Project: $8,333.00

    Helping to remove financial barriers for sports, education, & fitness for Southern Arizona Students / K-8 youth development program for health and wellness and remove financial barriers for after school sports for approximately 2,000 students in 7 schools in Cochise County.

  • The Butterfly Club Inc.: $25,000.00

    Butterfly Club Wig Outreach / High quality wigs for women and teens who are undergoing cancer treatment. Increased need from 450 to 546 wigs given last year.

  • Willcox Community Food Pantry: $45,000.00

    Sustaining Transportation Capacity, Heavy Duty 3/4 ton Towing Vehicle / For the purchase of a truck, insurance and repairs to provide transportation of food staples to/from the Willcox Food Pantry to Tucson, Safford, Sunsites, Sierra Vista and Bowie.
