Responsive Grant Awards $74,750.95

The Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona funds grants up to $5,000 for a one year project.

The Legacy Foundation accepts applications that align with our mission to promote population health and community wellness throughout Southeast Arizona.

  • Arizona Rangers: $4,060

    In partnership with the Bisbee Police, this funding will convert space donated by the City of Bisbee into a state-certified gun range for law enforcement agencies.

  • Arizona Rangers Bisbee Company: $835.95

    Providing uniform pants and body cameras for volunteer rangers.

  • Aviva Children’s Services: $2,000

    Delivering essential items such as clothing, school supplies, hygiene kits, cribs, and beds, along with therapeutic services for children within 72 hours of foster placement.

     

  • Benson Hospital: $4,000

    Introducing students ages 11–15 to healthcare careers through hands-on simulations, hospital tours, and expert-led activities.

  • Better Bucks of Sierra Vista: $2,000

    Helping individuals overcome employment barriers such as work clothing, cell phones, and delays in first paychecks.

  • Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless : $3,000

    Replacing twin mattresses and covers in its shelter.

  • Boys and Girls Club of Bisbee: $3,000

    Funding tools to deliver hands-on learning, problem solving and teamwork skills for youth participants. 

     


  • Boys and Girls Club of Sierra Vista : $3,750

    Expanding STEM/STEAM programming with 3D printers, robotics, and crafting across multiple club locations.

  • Chabad of Sierra Vista : $2,500

    Bringing survivor testimonies to school-aged children, with the  potential for a free community event.

  • City of Benson : $4,000

    Offering weekly, dietitian-approved lunches, especially for seniors, and upgrading kitchen facilities to combat isolation and encourage social interaction.

  • Cochise Chess : $2,500

    Offering a safe, enriching environment to develop cognitive, STEM, and communication skills through chess at two school sites.


  • Cochise County Master Gardeners Association : $1,475

    Including public workshops, a seed library, school field trips, and garden support at Kartchner Caverns.

     

  • Community Church of Warren: $4,000

    Repair or replace the wheelchair lift, with a maintenance agreement ensuring accessibility for elderly and disabled members and visitors.

  • Construyendo Círculos de Paz : $2,000

    Rural Reach Project, reducing stigma by providing mental health talks, activities, and workshops in eastern Santa Cruz County. 

  • Douglas ARC : $3,000

    Which trains adults with developmental disabilities to prepare and deliver meals to homebound individuals. Funds will support the purchase of food containers for the meal delivery program.

     

  • Echoing Hope Ranch: $1,500

    Which trains individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to repurpose wood pallets into decorative items, building skills and offering a creative outlet.

  • MIKID / Mentally Ill Kids in Distress: $1,500

    Behavioral Health Supplies, Activities and Sports Equipment, supporting youth coping skills and social interaction.

  • Salvation Army: $3,000

    Offering online cooking classes, ingredients, and utensils for  low-income youth.

  • Sierra Vista Rotary Club Charities (Sunrise Rotary Club): $3,100

    Creating a track with exercise stations and a soccer field to support 5th and 6th grade student fitness at six elementary schools.

  • Sierra Vista Symphony : $3,000

    Offering free symphony performances for local fifth graders


  • St. Vincent de Paul – Douglas: $3,500

    Providing meals and food bags to neighbors in need.  St. Vincent de Paul was unable to attend today. 


  • Tooth B.U.D.D.S: $2,500

    Providing oral health education and preventive care to at-risk children in Bisbee and Elgin schools.  Tood BUDDS was unable to attend today. 

  • Town of Huachuca City: $3,242

    Continuing bilingual StoryWalks for children and families and adding new stories.

  • Town of Huachuca City: $2,123

    Installing a new water fountain with bottle filler at Hunt Park and adding outdoor fitness stations at local parks.


  • United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO): $1,500

    Offering educational activities, camps, and school supplies for local military families.


  • Volunteer Interfaith Caregiver Program : $1,665

    Purchasing mobility aids, promotional items and volunteer shirts.

  • Wheel Fun (“FUN”): $3,000

    Providing no-cost youth mountain bike clubs in Benson and Huachuca City schools.

  • Willcox Community Food Pantry: $3,000

    Snacks to help students focus and maintain energy throughout the day.

Innovative Grant Awards $279,265.00

The Legacy Foundation offers Innovative Grants up to $50,000 (project not to exceed two years). These projects must meet at least one of the Innovative criteria contained within the grant guidelines.

  • Better Bucks of Sierra Vista i: $25,000

    program for low-income and underemployed.

     

  • Bowie Unified School District #14: $50,000

    Healthy Futures Initiative / Part-time school nurse / community outreach program for two years.

     

  • City of Bisbee : $17,000

    Funding will go toward the local match funding to unlock $4M federal award for a shared-use path at the Lavender Pit.

  • City of Douglas: $50,000

    Funds will purchase 2 piston-style automated chest compression devices for ambulances.

     

  • Cochise Area Network of Therapeutic Equestrian Resources: $25,000

     CANTER Indoor Arena / Indoor Arena Construction.

     

  • Cochise Harm Reduction: $25,000

    Peer Navigation Program / Peer navigator for treatment, housing, justice advocacy, transportation and vital documents.

     

  • Hattie B. BWIP : 10,000

    Confidence Camp internship program.


  • San Pedro Spotlight Foundation: $5,000

     For low-income students and students with diverse learning needs.


  • Sunsites-Pearce Fire District: $7,625

    Weight Before Meds / 1 scales for stretcher for accurate medication dosage.


  • Twinepidemic Inc: $40,000

    Cochise Project for Twinepidemic / Screening & interventions for diabetes, heart, kidney disease.


  • Willcox Theater and Arts, Inc.: $25,000

    for the Willcox Art & Heritage: Cultivating Community in Rural Arizona / Retractable seating for multipurpose auditorium at the newly constructed Center of Art and Heritage.
