In support of its mission to promote population health and community wellness throughout Southeast Arizona, the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona (LFSAZ) recently presented its Responsive Grant Awards during a ceremony held at the organization’s new Event Center on its Sierra Vista campus.

The Responsive Grant program provides funding of up to $5,000 for one-year projects designed to address community needs and strengthen local services. During this grant cycle, 29 organizations were selected as recipients, collectively receiving more than $80,000 in support.

The grant celebration brought together members of the LFSAZ board, staff, and representatives from the organizations receiving funding. The event opened with remarks from LFSAZ CEO Margaret Hepburn, who welcomed attendees before introducing Director Polly Gosa, who shared additional thoughts on the importance of supporting organizations working directly within Southeast Arizona communities.

LFSAZ staff members Susan Richards and Julie Brooks announced each grant recipient and presented the awards during the ceremony. The event concluded with remarks from LFSAZ Board Chair Mark Savage, who recognized the efforts of the funded organizations and their contributions to the region.

The organizations receiving Responsive Grant funding represent a wide range of community services and programs. Recipients included schools and educational organizations, religious outreach programs, food pantries, healthcare-related services, and county emergency response organizations, among others.

Through the Responsive Grant program, LFSAZ continues to provide resources to local organizations addressing important community needs. The awards support projects that impact residents across Southeast Arizona by helping organizations expand services, strengthen programs, and continue their work in improving community health and wellness.

The grant ceremony also highlighted the collaborative nature of community support efforts throughout the region, recognizing the role of local organizations in responding to the needs of the populations they serve.

Congratulations, recipients!
